Hey y'all! Today we're going to talk about boobs!
Have you ever had a breast health scare? Mine happened when I was 27. I had a lump in my left breast, got a mammogram, and then the doctor said this to me: "it's probably not cancer based on your age and risk factors, but we won't know for sure until we take it out." YIKES. My terrified mind heard "you probably have cancer."
Thankfully, it was benign. However, the lumpectomy led to an abscess so I had to have a second, more invasive surgery, and the scars from those two surgeries have left my left boob deformed. It sucks, but I'm still thankful EVERY SINGLE DAY that my lump was benign. I cannot imagine what would have happened if it had been cancer.
|Sorry for the over the shoulder look...my 4 kids were back there making mayhem.|
Things I learned from that experience:
Mammograms aren't that bad.
I'm a "light weight" when it comes to anesthesia.
This life isn't guaranteed.

Isn't Katy amazing? True story: I've been wearing this shirt every other day since she sent it to me. I've had a lot of people stare at my boobs, but hey, all for a good cause right? One woman walked up to me at a restaurant and asked where she could purchase the shirt. I told her, then with tears in her eyes she said, "this is what I'm fighting right now. This is my battle." I mean, how could I not burst into tears right along with her. Just knowing that people out there cared and were fighting with her made her feel a little bit better that day. And if that's all this shirt ever does then I'm fine with that. I am keeping her in my prayers, and I hope to see her again some day, cancer free!
Please pop over to Handmade Escapade and check out these shirts. You might make someone's battle a little easier just by wearing it. You might brighten someone's day. (And, if nothing else, people will check out your rack like you're 25 again!)
