It looks like a simple skirt right? Well, this skirt is hiding a spooky surprise!
Creepy glowing cat eyes! How did I do it? Glow in the dark fabric paint of course! Would you like to make one? Here's a quick tutorial:
First, use glow in the dark fabric paint to paint the white parts of the cats' eyes.
Let dry for 4 hours. Take care when you press this fabric with the iron not to let the iron touch the paint!
Then sew 2 pocket pieces to each skirt piece, right sides together, 2 inches from the top of the skirt.
Put the skirt pieces right sides together with the pockets facing out, pin and sew down each side. Use pinking sheers, zig zag stitch, or a serger to finish the seams.
(Not pictured) Sew the short ends of the waist band together. Fold in half lengthwise and press. Pin to top of the skirt and sew, leaving a 1" hole for elastic. Insert the elastic into the casing, sew ends together, and sew the hole shut. Finish seam however you like.
Now you have a Spooktacular skirt, with pockets, that any little girl would love! (Or, make it in your size! I kind of want one.)
