Date Night Cardi Tutorial

***Originally posted on Love Stitched***

Once upon a time there was a sad little cardi.

It was not ugly...just BORING.  It had been in the Good Will pile for months.  It had never even been on a date!

Then one day a refashionista came and saved it from the Good Will pile and gave it a sassy new look.

So much better.

The cardi finally got to go out on a date.  It had previously been used only for carpool and errands only, so this was a big day!

Do you want to take a cardi from drab to fab with me?  Here we go!

You will need:

1 boring cardigan (make sure the knit is fairly small or else you'll have problems with fraying.)
1/2 yard fun knit fabric...the sky is the limit!  I personally love cheetah print.
Serger OR Sewing Machine with a jersey needle.

If using a sewing machine, make sure you use a zig zag stitch.  No need to finish the edges as long as the knit on your cardi is fine.

Now add a belt and some jewelry and hit the town!
