So the other day my lovely friend Jenni let me borrow her computer charger because I had left mine in Fayetteville and desperately needed to write a blog post. Thanks Jenni!
When I got to her house I had had no shower, I had a massive headache, and just plain felt like poo. When she opened the door she said, "do you just always look this cute?" The thing is, I didn't put forth any effort to look cute, I just have a trick up my sleeve, and today I'm going to share it with you:
Here is my trick to looking cute when you don't want to put forth ANY effort whatsoever.
The go-to comfy outfit! I have many variations of this outfit but here's an example. To give you an idea of how much I love you, I took a photo of myself as I rolled out of bed this morning. Teeth were not brushed, makeup was smudged, I pulled my hair into a ponytail and walked outside to snap a photo.
Let's examine this photo: I have on a comfy tee shirt, yoga pants and flip flops. Now, I could have left the house in this...
But instead I wore this.
First of all, a great hat and sunglasses combo can hide just about anything. I didn't even brush my hair for this photo! I put on a comfy tee with a little more pizazz, and paired it with some comfy jeggings instead of yoga pants. The shoes are still flip flops, they're just cuter flip flops. This is essentially the exact same outfit comfort-wise, but look at the visual difference. Sometimes I throw on a statement bracelet. Beware of statement necklaces though, as they draw attention to your face and if you haven't even washed it yet this morning that may not be a good thing!

My trick is a cute bandana and a comfy sundress :)
ReplyDeleteBoy... I need to find MY go to comfy outfit. Pj pants and over sized tees everyday until noon is not a look I want to advertise.
ReplyDeleteI finally realized that all my outfits need to be comfy outfits. I've found that jewelry is the real trick to looking pulled-together for me. All I need are a well-fitting pair of jeans and a cute t-shirt, and if I have a great pair of earrings that matches, well then I'm all set. My go-to "Mom Uniform". :-)
ReplyDeleteI think it's the smile that helps most! You just look perky.
