Why are you crying NOW?!

Boys are so easy.  I don't know what it's like to have more than one boy, but having one boy is cake.  He's so...uncomplicated.

Girls, on the other hand, are hard.  They are sensitive.  Their feelings get hurt a lot.  Their relationships are complex.
They cry.  A LOT.  All day long.
Sometimes when we're having an awful, tearful, pulling our hair out kind of day I just let them outside and get my camera out.
It totally reminds me why I love having three girls.
Even though I spend half my life saying things like, "why are you crying?  Why are YOU crying?  WHY ARE YOU CRYING NOW???!!!" it is totally worth it.
This one is so funny.  The other day she very dramatically said, "My belly's getting fat, I think I'm 'bout to turn into Santa Claus!"  Any time she hurts herself she says "I think I might be dead!"
She is a lover of play doh and frogs.
This one is totally spoiled but she's so adorable it's hard to be mad at her.  Her favorite new phrase?  "I don't WANT to!"  She has been known to do something naughty and say "no ma'am!' while doing it.    If she tries to kiss you and you don't kiss her back she gets her feelings hurt and throws the mother of all tantrums.  And that white blonde hair...I'm a big fan.
And this one.  Oh this one.  She is wonderfully weird.  She is so smart, so expressive, such a toothless wonder.  Every time we are apart and are reunited, this is what I see from her.  What's not to love?

  2. I have a couple of photo albums on facebook that I titled "Therapy for the Cranky Momma" where I just went out with the girls and my camera to take pictures because I just couldn't handle anything else at the time. It definitely reminds me how amazing my own three little girls are. Your whole family is beautiful =)

  3. I hear ya! My oldest is a boy (sensitive, but still delightfully uncomplicated) and I'm about to have my 3rd girl. Drama. Soooo much drama. But they're so darn cute you can't help but adore them. My girls are the goofiest of all and make me laugh so hard. My two-year-old will say, "Mom, I nee go potty." I will say, "Okay, in just a minute, sweetie." She will then stomp her foot, put her hands on her hips and yell, "I NEE GO POTTY. RIGHT. NOOOOW!!!!!!!!" I have to say that I appreciate her strong-willed determination and willingness to stand up for herself. :-)

  5. I totally can relate to the "Why are you crying now?" lol. Because of Azriella's autism it wasn't until her sister was born before we got real communication as to why she actually was crying! She's grown up so much this past year. I wish she'd stop growing up so fast though! I simply relish having two girls that always want to sit in mamma's lap (Well, Azriella is a bit of a daddy's girl most of the time though!!)

I love how you dedicated this post to your children. So sweet!!!

  6. So true!!! I have a boy who is almost seven now, and a 3 years old girl, who happens to be a drama queen so why are you crying, what are you crying now, and why is your sister crying now? are really the most common sentences in my mouth most of the days... but then out of the blue she also came and gives you a hug and a kiss, that melted you heart and you can't imagine how you could live without this emotional roller coster all of your live!!!
