Does this look like a kid who ate spinach for breakfast? Well she did, and she didn't even know it (Mwah ha ha ha ha!)
Mama's Magic Smoothie Recipe:1 1/2 cups milk
1 cup vanilla yogurt
1 frozen banana
1 cup frozen berries
1 healthy handful of fresh spinach
1/4 tsp. vanilla
2 tablespoons of cocoa
Yields about 2 adult-sized servings or 4 kid-sized servings
Put all ingredients in blender and blend until smooth. I recommend putting the spinach in first and covering immediately with the milk, that way the spinach blends better (and hopefully the kiddos won't notice you snuck it in there!)
These are super delicious, super quick, and you totally can't taste the spinach!

Ah! Thanks so much! I'm doing weight watchers and have been drinking a lot of smoothies lately. This looks good!!
ReplyDeleteTHANKS!
My babies love these also! i freeze my spinach so that it doesn't go bad before I get it used... that way I can buy huge bags of it at Costco.
ReplyDeleteYum! I only had Greek yogurt on hand so I used it. I'm thinking it made it lighter in texture because it's almost like drinking chocolate mousse!
ReplyDeleteI love your blog, I just found it!
ReplyDeleteWhen you drink you smoothies is that all you eat for breakfast or do you make something else too?
@Shantel, I usually eat a whole grain english muffin with cheddar cheese melted on it with my smoothie :-)
ReplyDeleteOh yum! Thanks!
