The start of a business

For the past several months I have been chronicling the start of my business, Gigglebug, on this blog. Some people jump into having a business with both feet, I've been wading in slowly. I started out with a few items that went on sale in a local shop, Coastal Fog. Then I made some doggy bow ties for sale in Coastal Fog Dog. I recently opened an Etsy shop as well.

It took me a while to tweak my business name, and then even longer to work with a graphic designer to come up with a logo. I feel like I'm at a new milestone now because yesterday I actually ordered retail hang tags with my very own logo on them! I haven't ordered tags to go into the clothes yet, I'm still working up to those because they're quite expensive.

So that's where I am right now. I'm still trying to get this thing off the ground. As a way to say thank you to all of my readers who are following me through this process I have a giveaway! Click HERE if you missed it! It's super easy to enter, just become a fan of my Gigglebug Facebook page and comment on THIS post saying you did! (If you're already a fan, you can comment to that effect as well.) So far there are only 21 entries, so there's a pretty good chance of winning at this point! GOOD LUCK!

  1. Congratulations! I'm like you, slow and easy does it. It can be way too much to just go crazy right into it (at least when you have kids and all to take care of too :). Maybe for clothing tags, you can just do something like Ash does for right now? http://lilblueboo.blogspot.com/2010/05/easy-diy-tagless-clothing-labels.html Much success to you!

  2. Congrats on the new milestone... Just an FYI I ordered fabric tags from this etsy shop listed below and she was awesome and the tags were top notch! I loved them and so does everyone I use them on. Check her out if you want to get them sooner than later because they are a REALLY good price! Congrats again! http://www.etsy.com/shop/JennifersJewels?ref=top_trail

  5. I make my own cloth tags & labels using printable fabric sold in most craft stores. This fabric is paper lined and you can cut sections to print on your pc printer. Let me know if you need any guidance with this, you can find me at http://www.MarylandSeamstress.com.
    God bless! Diana
